Broncos Clock Management by Vic Fangio Was a Failure of Epic Magnitude

Broncos Clock Management by Vic Fangio Was a Failure of Epic Magnitude

Week 1 of the NFL season is officially in the books, and Clay Travis is reacting to the late night game in Denver between the Broncos and Clay's Tennessee Titans. It was a sloppy, yet exciting game, with both teams seemingly trying to find ways to lose.

The Titans kicking game was atrocious, as Stephen Gostkowski missed 3 field goals inside 50 yards and an extra point before redeeming himself. It was the Broncos clock management down the stretch though that left everybody watching the game confused.

The Broncos had timeouts that they could have used late in the 4th quarter as the Titans were driving and in short field goal range. Clay can't believe that Vic Fangio inexplicably kept those timeouts in his back pocket. The Broncos ultimately got the ball back, but with only 17 seconds left, and were unable to get into field goal range.

It was an awesome weekend of football, and it's nice to finally be back to questioning the clock management of coaches in the NFL.
