For the first time in team history, the Phoenix Suns will have the number one pick in the NBA draft.
They will also pick at number 16. The Suns are expected to take seven foot center Deandre Ayton with the first pick. He played his college ball in Tucson at the University of Arizona after spending two years at Hillcrest Prep in Phoenix. Another possibility is Duke forward Marvin Bagley the Third, who also played high school ball in Phoenix. He and Ayton were actually teammates at Hillcrest for a season. The Suns haven't made the playoffs since 2010 so there's a lot riding on tonight's draft that will be televised on ESPN.
