WEEK 11 High School Football Matchups (all games played on 11/2/18)

MILLBROOK (7-2 4-1 in Northwestern District play) @ SHERANDO (8-1 5-0 in Northwestern District play) 7pm (airs on Foxsports1550.com)

The Pioneers are coming off a 36-12 win over Liberty. Sherando has but one hiccup this season (a loss @ Martinsburg 50-45). A lot is riding on this game as the winner claims the Lindon/Barr Apple Cup Trophy (awarded to the Winchester/Frederick County school (Handley, James Wood, Millbrook & Sherando) with the best record against the other area teams Handley, James Wood, Millbrook & Sherando) AND the Northwestern District Title.

Sherando won both the Apple Cup and the Northwestern District title in 2017. The Warriors defeated Millbrook twice last season (35-22 in regular season finale and 35-32 in Region 4 Championship game). Both of those game were played at Millbrook.

Sherando defeated Fauquier 49-6 last Thursday and has won 12 of the last 15 matchups with Millbrook. The Pioneer’s last win in this series was a 42-41 classic in 2016.

CLARKE COUNTY (6-3, 3-1 in Bull Run District play) @ WEST POINT (6-2, located near Richmond VA.) 7pm

The Eagles are coming off a 35-16 win over George Mason. After starting 0-2 Clarke County has won 6 of it’s last 7 games. With a win over West Point Clarke County should have a home 1st round playoff game while a loss would mean that the Eagles would play their 1st round playoff game on the road.

This game was not originally on Clarke’s schedule but was scheduled because their game with Manassas Park on 8/31 was cancelled. This will be a busy week for WEST POINT as they have a game on Tuesday October 30th as well as their game with Clarke on 11/2/18. The Pointers have scored at least 60 points in three of their wins this season.
